About the Marion County Children's Alliance
|
The Marion County Children's Alliance is a non-profit, 501(c)3 organization and was formed in 2000 to insure that all of the children of Marion County received appropriate care and attention. Initially the Alliance served as a vehicle to connect all of the service providers that were already operating. This was done by improving interagency communication and collaboration.
Since that time the Alliance through its staff and workgroups has expanded its role into a number of other areas. These include but are not limited to: afterschool and summer tutoring programs, family violence prevention education, a jail based fatherhood initiative, a medical fund for low income children and bullying prevention and childhood nutrition campaigns.
In the last 8 years through grant funding and corporate and private donations, the Alliance has returned $3.5 million to the community in the form of services to children. |
